1. Scope
This policy explains how subscriptions, usage-based charging, renewals, plan changes, cancellations, and payment enforcement work for Wise-Revise.
2. Current public plans
- Student AI + MCQ: £5.00/month.
- Student MCQ only: £1.50/month.
- Teacher AI Metered + MCQ: £0.05 per AI quiz (usage-based), plus configured monthly budget controls.
- Teacher MCQ only tiers: £15/month (up to 32), £30/month (up to 100), £50/month (up to 200).
3. Billing responsibility
- Student direct subscriptions are billed to the student account holder.
- Teacher subscriptions are billed to the teacher account holder.
- School/super-admin managed teachers may be marked as override accounts and can operate without Stripe billing.
4. Plan limits and entitlement control
- AI and MCQ feature access is controlled by active plan entitlement.
- MCQ-only plans cannot assign or take AI-marked quizzes.
- Teacher student-cap plans enforce maximum managed student counts.
- Daily AI quiz limits and spend caps can block further AI attempts when thresholds are reached.
5. Upgrades, downgrades, and transfers
- Users can preview and confirm plan changes in account settings.
- Plan changes use prorated charging/credit so billing is fair to both parties.
- Billing cycle anchor remains unchanged unless explicitly changed by Stripe/account configuration.
6. Cancellation and renewal
- Users can cancel at period end and resume before expiry.
- Cancellation normally removes renewal from the next cycle while preserving access until period end.
7. Failed payment and non-payment
- If payment fails, plan status may become restricted/inactive.
- Where applicable, AI functionality may be paused until billing is resolved.
- Persistent non-payment may result in account suspension under terms and applicable law.
8. Refunds and cooling-off
- Consumer cancellation rights and cooling-off provisions apply where legally required.
- Refunds outside statutory obligations are handled case-by-case according to service usage and plan type.
9. Taxes and invoicing
Taxes (including VAT where applicable) are handled according to Stripe tax configuration and customer billing details.
10. Policy hierarchy
This policy should be read alongside Terms and Conditions, Stripe Recurring Payments Policy, Privacy Notice, and UK GDPR Policy.
